Raising refund dispute using the Uber App

There is feature in-app to report issues with the ride.

Uber app is a user-friendly application which is very easy to operate. You must be logged into your Uber account before accessing any in-App features. If you are not logged in, then use phone number and password to log into your account.

Step 1. After logging in, you can now see a button on the top left corner of your screen. It looks like three horizontal lines ☰. Tap that button.

  • My driver didn’t start or end my trip on time – choose this option when you feel your trip took a long time only because of your driver.
  • My driver took a poor route – Uber will refund your fare if you choose this option only in extreme cases. If the driver took the cab in an altogether different way then only select this option.
  • My driver stopped mid-trip – You shouldn’t be charged for any stops if your driver stopped the trip for his work. If you were charged, select this option.
  • I did not take this trip – If you see a trip and a receipt for a trip you didn’t take then select this option.
  • I missed my flight or event – Uber doesn’t claim responsibility for missing flights or events, but you can choose this option if you feel that your driver was the main reason for this problem.
  • I was charged a cleaning fee – if you were wrongly charged for cleaning, then select this issue.
  • I paid a toll for my driver – Uber fare automatically calculates all the toll you encounter during your trip; you shouldn’t have to pay a toll for your driver.
  • I paid my driver cash – Uber provides Cashless transactions; if you paid cash for your ride, choose this option.

Step 8. After selecting the option, you will have to type in the details of your dispute.

Step 9. Your options will vary according to the issue you selected.

Step 10. You will be asked to fill more information regarding the issue.

We were 3 of us going from Sydney CBD to Sydney Airport, we ordered an Uber X, we only had couple of luggage , 1st the Uber driver couldn’t find us, then he called and asked us walk all the way to cross the road.
As soon as he saw us with couple of luggages, he opened his car boot which was filled with lots of junks and had no room for one small luggage, he was rude and he left. So as we were late for our Airport check-in we got a taxi, we were on our way to the airport then we saw a huge bill from Uber $35.17 for the trip we didn’t use. There is no way to contact directly to Uber for a refund and the help/support in Uber site is useless.

My home to DFW airport fare is around $65.
On Thursday, returning home, the estimated price was $61. When I got home,
the uber changed me additional Tolls,Surchage, and fee $51.71.
Charging me a total amount of $101.33. Outrageous, there is no way toll could cost that much.

Trying to dispute my fee, but they removed that option.
The app and web pages are worthless.

I was charged a $5.00 cancellation fee for a “Comfort trip with Cassandra 31 August 2019, 3:54pm” that would have been from Anaheim, CA to LGB airport. When I try to ask for a refund Uber points to a ride I subsequently took following the cancellation and I don’t want this later driver to be impacted by my comments.
The ride I cancelled was because the drivers vehicle was too small for what a “Comfort” was advertised to be. It could not hold my family, (three adults and a small child), and our carry on luggage. The drivers passenger front seat was littered with used tissues; perhaps she was ill. She also said she arrived a few minutes prior to us seeing her and she parked so she could not be seen, but the app still showed her being 2 minutes away.
As I said before we cancelled this ride because her ride would not accommodate us and she was rude to us as well.
I don’t want to ding the next driver who was excellent but that appears to be the only way Uber is allowing me to request a refund of the $5.00 cancellation fee.
I’d also like to report the real bad driver so others will not have to deal with her if possible.
Does anyone know how I can do this as the app isn’t working and Uber doesn’t have a number customers can call to express such matters.
This is the first time I have had a problem with an Uber driver, but it makes me think twice about using Uber again.

I’m being charged for a ride that I didn’t take in Texas, from 1997 Katy Mills Blvd, Katy, TX 77494, US to 1104 N Sam Houston Pkwy E, Houston, TX 77032, USA. I never been to Texas before nor know anyone in Texas. I was charged for $ 89.78 plus $60 tip. Please correct this. I have not use any ride service since 2019. This is a fraud.

    On 12/16 I was charged for Dec 16, 2021 UBER* TRIP http://WWW.UBER.COM CA 12/16 (…5157)
Card -$36.98. This was a ride I never took or shows as ride I ordered in the app. Because of this I have been unable to reach out to anyone or request a refund. There is no phone number to call. I need help to receive a refund without cancelling my debit card which is the only way my bank can help me.

I ordered a cab on Friday night, and stated which location. The app seemed to change the location to one which was nearest to me at the time I booked.

I tried to change the location but couldn’t because it was too far away. So I had to cancel. I got a refund for the cancellation, but it has gone into my Uber wallet.

Then I ordered again for the location I had now arrived at. The app showed the driver being somewhere else, so I messaged the driver. Got no response. Then he pulled out of his parking space – had been there all along, and had been looking at me directly ahead of him. He told me I had cancelled (I hadn’t) so I had to rebook. AGain, the cancellation fee was refunded to me, but in to the Uber Wallet.
I don’t want this to be in the Uber Wallet – I want it refunded to me properly. I can find no way to contact anyone about this, which is pretty disgraceful.

Please can someone contact me and arrange for a full refund of the cancellation fees. I do not intend to use Uber again unless I am desperate so that money sitting in the wallet is unlikely to be used.

Really poor service/experience. In the end I had to phone a friend to come pick me up as the driver just drove off. Not good to leave a female on her own late at night like that.
