Uber launched a premium, upscaled ride-share variant called Uber Premier. This ride-share alternative enables the rider to book a luxury car or SUV chauffeured by Uber’s high-rated driver-partners. Your Premier driver will have an average star rating of 4.6 or higher.

You can ask for the following exclusive ride preferences on requesting a Premier trip to customize your ride experience:

  1. Temperature presets — Let your driver know if you’d like a cooler temperature inside the vehicle.
  2. Conversation preference — You can let your driver know beforehand if you want a chatty trip or simply request a quieter ride.
  3. Also, if you are traveling to or from the airport, you can seek assistance with your luggage as well.

Uber is committed to providing you a luxury experience with Premier and so, your ride comes with the option of personalization to suit your comfort level.

What are some key perks of booking a Premier ride?

In addition to offering the rider the opportunity to personalize their ride with rider preferences, Premier provides the following benefits:

  • Additional legroom for added comfort
  • Added style to make a strong impression at important business engagements or special occasions
  • Additionally, extended pickups with additional waiting times of up to 10 minutes for no extra cost

How is Uber Premier different from Uber Black?

Uber Premier and Uber Black are both luxe offerings by Uber. However, Premier is, generally, a more affordable ride option than Black. Although both provide an elevated ride in a luxury car, your Premier ride may or may not be a commercial-plated black luxury vehicle. Also, Uber Premier drivers may or may not hold a commercial driving license which is a prerequisite for Black drivers.

All in all, Uber Premier and Uber Black are not available simultaneously in any market. In addition, Premier has replaced Uber Black in certain cities as the luxury ride-share product. Nonetheless, Premier offers riders more ways to personalize their riding experience.

Where is Premier available?

This service is Uber’s luxe offering which is expected to replace all other luxury ride-share alternatives in all the cities where Uber operates. So, apart from the U.S., currently, Premier is being offered in the major cities across:

  • Australia
  • India
  • New Zealand
  • China
  • Germany
  • Spain
  • England
  • France
  • South Africa

Furthermore, the rollout of Premier in the above-mentioned markets has replaced Uber Black, Select, Luxe, and SUV in these markets. Nevertheless, Uber is constantly expanding its service across new service areas.

Which vehicle can I expect while requesting a Premier trip?
